AMS Sweden expands aftermarket services – now also for mechanical presses

AMS Sweden is expanding its operations and now also offers service and aftermarket support for mechanical presses. This means that customers with both mechanical and hydraulic presses and press lines can turn to AMS Sweden.

Trio with over a hundred years of experience

At the center of the new initiative is a trio with extensive industry experience. AMS Sweden has hired two experienced service technicians, Joakim Olsson and Micael Asterhäll, both of whom bring many years of experience from the industry. Together with Jens Bäckman, who already works for AMS Sweden, they form a team with at least a hundred years of combined experience in mechanical presses.

The trio will not only serve as field resources; they will also train the rest of the AMS staff. The goal is for customers to quickly see the benefits of working with AMS Sweden as a full-service supplier.

The organization is ready

The entire organization has already been geared up for the initiative — from planning and technical support to spare parts management.

“For nearly a year now, we have been training our staff both in the field and in the office, and our spare parts inventory is ready. We are already quoting control systems for mechanical presses and lines, and the first system has already been sold,” says Dennis Brandt, sales representative and owner of AMS Sweden.

Investments in specialized tools have been made, and two new service vehicles in AMS Sweden’s new color scheme are now out on the road.

Part of a long-term plan

“This initiative is part of our 2030 business plan. More news will be announced shortly, including the launch of an online shop. But first, we are introducing service and rebuilds for mechanical presses,” says Dennis Brandt.

AMS Sweden currently has 18 employees and brings in between three and five external technicians on a full-time basis to meet a growing customer base. The expansion is a strategic part of a long-term plan.

“We find that our customers appreciate the way we work – everything from thorough planning before the job is carried out to follow-up after the work is completed, in the form of a quote and technical advice,” Dennis Brandt continues.

More efficient service and lower travel costs

There are many advantages to use AMS Sweden as an aftermarket supplier. Customers only needs to deal with a single supplier, while gaining access to expertise on applicable regulations and an extensive network for spare parts sourcing. Since the technicians can perform service and maintenance on several types of presses during the same visit, travel costs become significantly more efficient.

With expertise gathered, inventory stocked, and vehicles on the road, AMS Sweden is ready to meet customers in a wider segment. At the same time, the message is clear – mechanical presses are only the first item on the list.
